Our Cause: Standing for Democratic Values in the Democratic Party

Washington is the largest state in the nation that still uses a full caucus system to allocate delegates in the Democratic presidential nominating process. As anyone who attended the 2016 caucuses knows, and as the hundreds of thousands of Democrats who couldn’t attend and didn’t have a voice can attest, our system no longer works. But soon the party will have the chance to align our process with our principles. On April 5th-7th, 2019, the Washington State Democratic Central Committee will convene to decide whether to keep a broken caucus system in place or adopt the state-run presidential primary. One option locks thousands of Democrats out of a vote; the other uses the nation’s most efficient and secure elections infrastructure to let you vote from home.

We believe the choice is clear, and we hope you’ll join us.
